Niko was looking for a new way to let users, including regular Niko customers but also installers and architects, to connect to their web portal and their other applications, including Niko Home Control.
Niko required a new authentication and coarse-grained authorisation layer that could be shared across multiple applications, that would support a large number of users at low cost, and that could be integrated into their legacy CRM solution in order to migrate away from it.
Aloalto set up a new identity and access management solution based on AWS Cognito and integrated with Microsoft Dynamics, with a React-based frontend application. The user flows had to be set up in such a way that users would be migrated away from the CRM as they gradually signed in to the new system.
The application is able to service Niko’s many customers, implements a full functional migration plan, while costing a fraction of competing services.
