Inspectron is a company focused on vehicle inspection. They work with bespoke cameras of various shapes and sizes that allows their operators to delve deep into vehicle engines to monitor their health and identify problems. Until recently the pictures and video data from the cameras was only stored on the device itself so that analysis could only be done later after downloading the data onto a computer.
Inspectron wanted to connect their cameras to ingest the image data in near real time in a cloud environment in order to proceed to inspection faster and without the need for the manual download step.
Aloalto set up an AWS cloud environment and MQTT topics in AWS IoT Core for Inspectron, working hand-in-hand with their firmware team in order to connect their prototype cameras and ingest the visual data and display it in a mobile application.
With Aloalto’s help, Inspectron was able to showcase the feasibility of connecting their cameras to the AWS cloud and doing real-time monitoring of vehicle engines.
