Property managers using Up2Rent often have to upload invoices from suppliers into the product. The contents of the invoice needed to be manually re-entered by the user in a form.
To capture the information in the invoices without the need for manual entry, an automatic system to read the contents of unstructured invoice documents had to be put in place.
Using the latest APIs for optical character recognition (OCR), Aloalto enhanced the invoice ingestion process by prefilling a number of fields in the web form by parsing the invoice.
A human still needs to review and complete the values in the product, but this feature saves a lot of manual entry work for Up2Rent users.
