ZF wanted to set up an environment to ingest and process their IoT fleet management data to share across the organization and to feed applications and BI systems.
The solution needed to fit both functional and technical requirements of ZF’s new Scalar programme, ingesting data at scale and offering cross-functional data services in various forms to a variety of stakeholders.
Aloalto had to set up a Lakehouse, i.e. the combination of a data lake and a data warehouse in a cloud-based (AWS) environment using Databricks following a medallion architecture (where data is organized in bronze/silver/gold zones).
The LakeHouse went live on schedule and following best practices around governance and GDPR-compliant handling of data. It was ready to host its first use cases in the months that followed.
